This week, we officially lowered our standards... and honestly, the news did most of the work for us.
Join Kota and Losa as they try to make sense of a week filled with free pizza for dead pythons, robot MMA fights, a prisoner winning the right to send some very questionable mail, and a man who willingly spent eight hours inside a porta-potty tank to retrieve a Mountain Dew bottle. Along the way, Kota shares how quitting vaping has led to some incredibly vivid dreams, the rapid-fire questions get wonderfully ridiculous, and the listener question has us discussing the weirdest things we've seen on the internet.
If you've ever wondered just how strange the world can get, this episode is proof that reality doesn't need fiction to be entertaining. Grab your favorite drink and come laugh with us as we ask the only question that matters: What is wrong with people?
As always stay hydrated, take care of your mental health, and brace yourself for the unexpected.

SPEAKER_00How you doing today, Coda? I'm doing okay, just trying to beat the heat, I guess. It is so hot right now in Colorado. It's it's awful.
SPEAKER_01The problem, do you guys have any humidity? Because I here in Salt Lake, it's just a dry heat. It just feels like you like walk out your door and you're hit with an this wall of just dry heat. It's just nasty.
SPEAKER_00We don't have much humidity. Oh, I'm trying to see. I got 16% according to my cell phone. And let's see what Utah's humidity's at.
SPEAKER_01So that's not bad. So that's about what we have here in Salt Lake.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, your guys' humidity is 23, so I have less humidity than y'all have.
SPEAKER_01And you're at 102? It's too hot. It's just too hot. Like it's ridiculous. It's too hot.
SPEAKER_00I'm I'm over summer. I can't stand it.
SPEAKER_01I hate the heat so much. It's so it just it's so exhausting to be hot.
SPEAKER_00So uh tomorrow will be one week without my vape. Everybody in my life is still alive. I haven't committed mass murder yet. I'm still just chucking through.
SPEAKER_01It must it just is hard.
SPEAKER_00My dreams have gotten super crazy though.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, they have. Like in a good or a bad way.
SPEAKER_00It's weird. So like I fall asleep to South Park every night, and there's the episode that we were watching is where Cartman goes and like hunts down hippies because he's hates hippies and he notices that they're starting to take over South Park. And at one point he goes into this old lady's house and he's like, Hey, I need to check your attic. I think you have hippies in your attic. And she's like, Okay. So he like opens the attic, but like as I'm listening to it, I'm my dreams are like a live action reenactment of it. So Cartman was like narrating the show, but I was in my dream the one opening up the attic and rounding up all the hippies. And then last night I'm I'm not sure what happened last night, but Ren made some kind of loud noise and it made me like jolt awake out of bed. Like do you remember that time when we were camping and we heard train tracks and I jumped out of the the uh air mattress and was like, we gotta move, we're gonna get hit by the train.
SPEAKER_01I do not remember that, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, it was like uh I was dead asleep and then just upright, just like I don't know what happened, but they had to like calm me down. But yeah, the dreams have been really crazy, really, really crazy.
SPEAKER_01Like crazy to the point where you're like, I want to stop taking it or No, no, they're not bad by any means, they're just vivid. Yeah, still I don't know if I could do that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so we'll see. They're okay, you know. A lot of times I can't remember them anyway, so I'm like shocked that I can remember. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's how you and your dad are so alike like that. He like rarely ever dreams of money that's like very vivid. Not that, you know, he doesn't he's not having them because of medication, but he just that's just how he is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. See, and I don't have a hard time dreaming. I dream most nights, but I have a hard time remembering said dreams. Yeah. They've been good. Speaking about dreams, I feel like this week has been a weird fever dream for different articles. Did you have fun looking at your articles this week? I did. There was so much to pull from this week. Yeah, they are just so outlandish. Like I had five or six stories that I wanted to read and I had to narrow it down to three. This is the top tier of top tier.
SPEAKER_01My thing is that I couldn't pick, so it's I lumped them together in different segments for the for the podcast.
SPEAKER_00So this restaurant in Florida will give you a free pizza if you bring in a dead python.
SPEAKER_01Free pizza for a dead python. But what are they doing with the dead python?
SPEAKER_00Is there chopping them up and putting them on pizza? All I know is that the pythons are like an invasive species in Florida and they don't really care. It's kind of like the iguanas. Someone could be making python tacos, for all we know.
SPEAKER_01Right, exactly. It is Florida after all.
SPEAKER_00A dead a dead python will get you a free pizza at this man's restaurant. Yes, it's in Florida. Wild Man's Pizza accepts invasive snakes as currency during 2026 Florida Python Challenge. As far as Dusty Chrome. That's not his real name. Come on. That's what it says. Doesn't it sound like a uh wrestler's name? It definitely could. He definitely looks like the kind kind of guy to do wrestling or enjoy it. Um as far as Dusty Chrome is aware, his Florida restaurant is the only pizza place in the world that accepts invasive Burmese pythons as currency. It's his way of supporting the Florida Python Challenge, a national state sponsored call for the invasive species designed to protect native wildlife. You got any python, you get a free specialty pizza, a large pizza of your choice. Chrome owner of the Wildmen's Pizza Plaza and Pythons in Evergreen City, Florida, Dusty went on to say it's kind of a thing, you know, especially the local kids, they catch them. They don't know what to do with them, they're hungry, they want pizza. Every summer in the Florida Everglades, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the South Florida Water Maintenance District Team team up to organize the Florida Python Challenge. Participants sign up and take on take an online training course on how to find Balmiese pythons and kill them ethically, all for the chance to win cash prizes. The person who brings in the most python carcasses wins up to 10 grand. That's a lot of money. I could use 10 grand.
SPEAKER_01I'll kill some snakes for 10 grand. I wonder what they mean when they say they were um killed ethically.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's probably kind of like when you kill a crab before you boil it, you have to like poke its brain and kill it that way, you know, because that's the most humane way to kill something before you eat it. Or like um the cows when they just take the the nail gun and shoot them in the forehead, or the chickens with the electrical floor. So it's gotta be humane in some kind of way. Alright. Uh yeah, ten thousand dollars. I might I might start joining in on this. Do you have a snake problem in Colorado? No. I'm just saying I could relocate to Florida during the summer and and try that out. I bet you if we got grandma two pie in on it, we could win some big money. I think don't you think she'd have fun killing the snakes? No.
SPEAKER_01Mm-mm. She's too terrified of it. When we were little and she saw a snake once in the windowsill of the old house, she refused to go down into the basement until someone got rid of it. The shit. Hold on.
SPEAKER_00Um he does serve a python pizza. He occasionally serves up a snakey slice, preparing his pies with pieces of Pison sauteed and garlic butter. It's got a gamey flavor, he said, and it's really good. He can't put it on his official menu because the snake meat is not prepared by a licensed butcher, but he's known to give it away for free to those curious enough to try.
SPEAKER_01That ain't right. Someone's gonna call PETA, I'm telling you. So, Coda, here's a segment for you. Are you ready?
SPEAKER_00Yes, hit me with it.
SPEAKER_01This is the what the hell segment. So story number one on the what the hell the first robot MMA fight happened in China and one of the robots was decapitated. And I want to know when is it too when is like he just popped his head off.
SPEAKER_00So is it like the AI robots are just fighting or someone's controlling the AI robots and they're fighting each other?
SPEAKER_01They didn't say, they just said that the robots were fighting and one got decapitated.
SPEAKER_00That's gnarly.
SPEAKER_01It is gnarly.
SPEAKER_00At some point, we're gonna take this AI thing too far.
SPEAKER_01Right? I think I think that's true. I do. I really think so. All right, how about this one? What the hell? Dog rescued after getting trapped four feet underground. So he went down this tunnel and couldn't get figure out his way to get out, and they had to call the police, and the police called the fire department, and the fire department had to go down and rescue this poor dog. What the hell? What?
SPEAKER_00How could he not figure his way out? Could he not back up? He didn't have reverse. He doesn't.
SPEAKER_01An art museum spreads enough peanut butter on its floor during an art thing to make 15,000 peanut butter sandwiches.
SPEAKER_00I can just smell that room now. They're never gonna get the peanut butter smell.
SPEAKER_01Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
SPEAKER_00I hate peanut butter breath.
SPEAKER_01I love peanut butter.
SPEAKER_00I love peanut butter. Peanut butter's good, but peanut butter breath? And that's all I would that's all I would think about. How much peanut butter is that? That's a lot on peanut butter.
SPEAKER_01A lot. I don't know. And here's my question: is how did they come up with 15,000 uh sandwiches? Like, is that a thick peanut butter or is that just a little skiff of peanut butter? Are you spreading it really thin? You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, that's very true.
SPEAKER_01So how do they know?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because everybody's peanut butter sandwiches are gonna be different for sure.
SPEAKER_01Right. It's like peanut butter sandwiches are a personality of their own.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I want to know how they're gonna clean it up. Are they gonna use a squeegee? Because it's not like you can just like take a mop to peanut butter or paper towel. How are they gonna clean that up?
SPEAKER_01Well, whoever it is, it's not gonna be me.
SPEAKER_00I can tell you that much. If they paid you a hundred grand to clean up all that peanut butter, would you?
SPEAKER_01No, sorry. I have standards.
SPEAKER_00I must not, because I would have happily done that.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, no. All right. Did you know that the Lumberjack World Championship set new records this week?
SPEAKER_00No, I hadn't heard about that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, me neither, because it's on the what the hell segment because nobody's heard of that except for the people who do it, right?
SPEAKER_00And it's it in like Milwaukee or something? I don't know where it's at. Let me look. You don't have any of the records they broke? You just are telling me they broke a bunch of records? Yeah, it's just a what the hell? Wisconsin.
SPEAKER_01Isn't that what I said? No, Milwaukee, and that is not in Wisconsin either.
SPEAKER_00No. Does it tell you what world records they made?
SPEAKER_01No, they just send it because I guess they're still going on. So they won't print the the records until it's over, I guess.
SPEAKER_00But they're already setting records. That's a good thing.
SPEAKER_01But what the hell, Dakota? Why do you want to know? Why do you want to know so bad? You got a lumberjack fetish going on?
SPEAKER_00Mind your business, okay? But yeah, maybe. Mind your mind your business. I need I need a rugged hairy man to split me in half sometimes. You don't want to know that though. Oh. Okay, so here's a story. My my next two stories are are really out there, but this comes from the Irish star. But a prisoner wins legal right to send fiance letters covered in his own semen in lawsuit. DNA's forever. Sorry. A German prisoner has won a landmark legal battle for his prisoner rights, securing the right to send semen-covered fiance letters after the court found no legal bias for the prisoner's disciplinary action. A prisoner has prevailed in an unusual legal dispute. I just want to know why. I don't know. I don't know. Hopefully the article will tell us. He's a convicted drug dealer currently serving a multi-year sentence at the correctional facility, arguing that prohibiting his semen-coded correspondence would suppress his sexual fantasies. The the unsuspected form of expression was uncovered during routine prison mail inspections. So one of the prison guards had to read this semen-covered letter.
SPEAKER_01Like, how do you uh uh it's nasty, it's nasty. There's like no reason for this. None. I once, many, many, many, many years ago, Dakota, I was in school to become a medical technician in the laboratory so I could work in the lab and like test specimens as they came in. So one day there was a semen sample that was submitted, and they're like, oh good, we need to pass you off on this. And I put my face down in the uh in the microscope, and just the smell hit me, and I was like, nope. They're like, come on. And I'm like, nope, ain't doing it. I don't get that close to my husband's semen. I'm not getting that close to the stranger semen. And failed that section of my lab. Is that why you never became a medical tech? Uh no, like things changed, but yeah, that I it I knew then.
SPEAKER_00You knew that that was too much. Uh-huh. The inmate and his partner have been exchanging bodily fluids through postal mail for an extended period. However, prisoners' officials halted the explicit correspondence after determining the fluid-covered letters resembled a significant health hazard.
SPEAKER_01You think? You can't mail that. You can't put that in the mail. Oh, this isn't another country, right? It's not here in the US.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's called the Irish Star, but when I started the article, it said a um a German prisoner. Okay. According to prison regulations, guards must examine mail for contraband. Correctional authorities contended that handling the semen-covered pages constituted a violation of the duty to protect health and maintain orderly coexistence. A judge concluded the man had not violated his obligation to uphold health and hygiene standards within the facility, finding that those regulations exist to safeguard inmates, well-being, not prison personnel. Any health-related objections from guards were considered legally immoral.
SPEAKER_01What? That's definitely not here in the US.
SPEAKER_00Some people's children Right?
SPEAKER_01They just need to be able to do it. What good would that do for you? I don't know. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Do you think he writes the letter first and and and then releases on it? I don't think I care. You're not even kind of like questioning his method. Nope. Mm-mm. Don't care.
SPEAKER_01Nope. If your dad sent me a letter like that, I would drive to wherever he was and choke him with it. That's nasty.
SPEAKER_00I think it's fucking hysterical.
unknownI can tell.
SPEAKER_01Rapid fire questions. Are you ready?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses? I'm gonna go with 100 duck-sized horses. That's kind of little. I think I could take them. What kind of question is this? I would go with a duck-sized horse because I would try to ride it. And you think riding a duck-sized horse is funner than squashing little horse-sized ducks?
SPEAKER_00Not trying to make glue over here. My life is falling apart. I don't need any extra glue.
SPEAKER_01If aliens landed tomorrow, where would you take them to eat? Crown burger?
SPEAKER_00Cook them a meal, I think. What would you cook them? I would grill something up for, something really good, like chicken. Or I could do shepherd's pie or Philly cheesesteaks. The options are endless. They are very endless. Alright. So probably the wildest headline I've ever come across.
SPEAKER_01Really?
SPEAKER_00Yes, it is it is absolutely wild. A man spent eight hours in a porta potty tank retrieving Mountain Dew bottle company says.
SPEAKER_01I heard about this, but I'm I'm riveted to hear the details.
SPEAKER_00New details are shining light on the bizarre rescue of a man who became trapped inside a holding tank of a portable toilet in Kansas City. The unusual incident happened July 14th while crews with Patriot Portable Restrooms were collecting units after an event tied to the FIFA World Cup, according to a company partner. The company partner says one of the company's drivers checked each portable restroom before loading them, knocking on every door to make sure no one remained inside. One unit was locked, and the occupant was told he had about 10 minutes to finish before crews returned. When the driver came back, the man still refused to leave. A Kansas City police officer riding by on a motorcycle was flagged down to help. After the officer asked the man to come out, the response raised even more questions. The man replied that he could not reach the door and could not get out of the toilet. Then responders looked inside the restroom. They initially couldn't see anyone. According to the worker, all of a sudden a head popped out of the toilet. Oh my gosh. The man had climbed into the waste, holding tank beneath the toilet seat. Kansas City firefighters responded and attempted to talk the man through getting out on his own. During the rescue, the man told responders that he climbed into the tank to retrieve a Mountain Dew bottle he had dropped in the night before. And he'd been in there that entire time? Yeah, the Yeah, he said the man had been inside the tank for roughly eight hours. I'm sorry. There's no bottle in this world that would make me crawl into a port-a-potty tank.
SPEAKER_01Nope. Think of that. What is one of the things that I say like every day? DNA is forever. Can you imagine the D uh Oh?
SPEAKER_00Like we thought watching Steve O get launched into in a porta-potty via a slingshot was bad. This dude just like climbed into it. Like at one point, do you that do you think he stopped and went, maybe I'm going a little too far for a Mountain Dew bottle?
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm sure it crossed his mind once or twice in the eight hours he was trapped in there. Eight hours.
SPEAKER_00I would have just in other people's feetsies. Like, no. Firefall firefighters ultimately cut apart the portable toilet to free him. After the man climbed out, firefighters rinsed him off using water from one of their trucks before the incident came to an end.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's no amount of soap that's gonna get you clean. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no. Uh the authorities are not going to publicly identify the man or said whether or not he suffered any injuries. Because you can't, you can't, you can't. There's no coming back from that.
SPEAKER_01It's too much craziness. All right. Coda, we have a listener question of the week. Are you ready? I'm ready for it. Let's let's do it.
SPEAKER_00What is the weirdest thing you've seen on the internet this week? Probably a man climbing into a porta potty to get a Mountain Dew bottle.
SPEAKER_01Well, I saw on one of my news shows the the ra a raccoon that had a deformity, so it walked around on its back legs like a person.
SPEAKER_00Are you talking about the root raccoon that didn't have a neck that's kind of like curved? Is that what you're talking about? Mm-hmm. Did you see it? Yeah, it is kind of goofy looking. Yeah, I did. That is pretty weird. You're right about that one. It's creepy.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna have nightmares about the raccoons.
SPEAKER_00It looked like a bowling ball with legs that kind of just like swabbed his arms around.
SPEAKER_01And then it would it like shifted and it turned around and it looked at you and you were like, Oh, there's a face on it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, that's that's I'm with you on that one. That was that was a little butch.
SPEAKER_01I have one thing. It's gonna be the NFL starting, like pre-camp is starting this week. So start getting up on your NFL because we are going to have debates about this about who's playing who and when and what. Sound like a plan?
SPEAKER_00Yes, that sounds like a plan. All right, guys. Uh, please like, share, subscribe, follow all of the all of the things. Uh send us in a question. You can leave a comment, we'll answer the question there, or you can email us at current chatter21 at gmail.com. And as always, guys, please drink your water and talk to your therapist.
SPEAKER_01Have a good one.
SPEAKER_00Bye-bye.
SPEAKER_01Bye. That's a little odd to Koda. You need to talk to the talk to your therapist about this. It doesn't seem healthy at all.
