This week, Kota and Losa are back together after Losa's surgery recovery, catching up on healing, quitting nicotine, and the challenges of kicking old habits. From bizarre news stories to completely unexplainable headlines, they tackle everything from an unfortunate license plate, a burglar who left his wallet behind, and a man who made one very unfortunate sandwich famous, to mystery grenades, impossible GPAs, and a roommate with a sewing kit. Along the way, they somehow end up talking sports, Pitbull's surprisingly dedicated fans, and why some questions are probably better left unanswered. Expect plenty of laughs, a few "what the hell?" moments, and far more questions than answers.

As always stay hydrated, take care of your mental health, and brace yourself for the unexpected.

SPEAKER_01

Hello everyone, and welcome to Current Chatter. Two Generations, One Noisy World, the podcast where we talk about the stories that make you laugh, question reality, and wonder how the world somehow keeps getting weirder by the day. I'm Losa, and if this is your first time here, settle in because every week, me and my son Dakota will dive into the strange, the trending, the unbelievable, and the headlines that leave us all with a collectively asking us why. From bizarre news stories and internet chaos to current events, pop culture madness, and the topics everyone can't stop talking about. Nothing is off limits here. If it's shocking, ridiculous, fascinating, controversial, or just plain confusing, we're probably talking about it. This podcast is part of commentary, part chaos, and part group therapy for people trying to survive modern life one headline at a time. So whether you're driving, cleaning your house, hiding from your responsibility, or just looking for a break from the insanity of the world around you, I'm glad you're here. Get comfortable, grab a drink, and let's get into current chatter.

SPEAKER_00

What's going on, all my chatterheads? I hope you're having a wonderful day. As always, it's Friday afternoon, and it's time for some current chatter. I'm here with Mama today.

SPEAKER_01

Mama, how are you doing? Excellent. I finally feel like I turned uh a page in my healing process from being having just had surgery to actually healing from the surgery. Does that make sense? Yeah. Did it fix what you wanted it to fix? Um, not yet, but it's everything like under the surface is still healing. So when you see me in a couple months, I can show you the stents that they put in my eyes and stuff. It's pretty interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Did they have to put anything up your nose because they broke it?

SPEAKER_01

Uh no. Thank goodness. But it did bleed for two days. It just had this constant, like, just it wasn't a lot. It was just this drip. And I can't blow my nose for another week and a half.

SPEAKER_00

You still can't? Ugh. I wonder how good it's gonna feel when you do finally get to blow your nose.

SPEAKER_01

I'll probably blow one of the stents out. That's what they're worried about. Because you build up all that pressure and then you blow your nose and it just like I got nauseous the other night and I was like, I can't throw up.

SPEAKER_00

When you said that you can't blow your nose, I just thought, like, how many times a day do I just blow my nose just out of habit? How do you how do you consciously stop yourself from blowing your nose?

SPEAKER_01

It's it's a conscious effort because I go to blow my nose about a hundred times a day. Because of the plumbing all not working, I have like a constant runny nose. Just it's constant, but I can't blow that. I just have to wipe it away. And it's just constant. It's just I feel like I'm drowning in snot.

SPEAKER_00

That'd be so irritating. A little bit.

SPEAKER_01

But but if you've got a constant runny nose, no amount of sniffing makes it so that you can sniff. Do you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, for sure. No, I totally get it. It sucks.

SPEAKER_01

Well, how are you?

SPEAKER_00

I am actually I'm on my third day of chantics and my first day without my vape. Why? Yeah. Um my surgery that I would like to have, I have to um be nicotine-free for ten months. Or t ten weeks.

SPEAKER_01

Ten weeks. It's ten weeks away?

SPEAKER_00

No. I have to pass a test No, no, no, no, no. I have to pass a nicotine-free test and it takes about ten weeks for nicotine to get out of your body, then they'll set up my appointment. So my appointment could be at the end of the year or the middle of next year, but they'll bring me in periodically to test me to make sure that I'm still nicotine-free.

SPEAKER_01

That's bizarre. What if it was an emergency surgery type of situation?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I've never had surgery. And this is just like to do it through Denver Health, you know, because I can't afford to do it through the surgeon that I wanted. So I've got my nicotine gum. I haven't killed anyone yet. But you want to. You've got that tone of your voice that I know. I don't know. I'm hoping the chantix really helps. I just hear horror stories of it, so it makes me nervous.

SPEAKER_01

So you can take the nicotine. Is Chantix like a pill? What is that? Yeah. Is it gum?

SPEAKER_00

It's not gum. It's a pill that you take for like 12 weeks and it blocks the receptors in your brain that tell your brain you need nicotine to the point where if you do end up taking nicotine when you've got like chantics in your system, it like makes you really ill, but it also gives you like crazy dreams. And have you had crazy dreams yet? No, it's only day two or day three. Some people, when you take chantics, have had psychotic breaks. You gotta watch that photo. Yeah. Oh my goodness. I'm having a great fucking time. Wow. Tell me how you really feel. Oh, that's horrible. It's not as bad when I have tried to quit in the past. I do feel like the pill helps me get over my cravings faster. Um, because my cravings, if I can like consciously remind myself why I'm doing it, they probably last only three to five minutes, but they're intense. Like they're like, they're intense. So and I'm just trying to just just try and stick with it like very, very hard.

SPEAKER_01

What else can you do? Here's the thing is I was about your age when I quit smoking for the last time. I didn't want to quit either. You and Justin were the reason I quit. Um, but after the surgery and everything's done and you're all healed, would you go back? Do you plan on going back? Or are you just planning on playing it by ear? Because if you don't plan, then you plan and fail.

SPEAKER_00

I plan on I plan on going back, but I think I'm only doing that because I necess don't necessarily want to quit. Um so we'll see how I feel after everything. Because once the surgery's uh done, I have to uh abstain from it for uh uh another five or six weeks.

SPEAKER_01

That's crazy because I don't know if you remember, like I would keep a pack of cigarettes in my car. I didn't smoke anymore, but I would get it out and just sniff it and then sniff it.

SPEAKER_00

You that's where I that's where I got my first cigarettes.

SPEAKER_01

You took it, and I was so upset. And you're like, I don't know why you're so mad. You're not smoking anymore. You haven't smoked for like six months. And I'm like, but that was my pack of cigarettes. You didn't have any right to get rid of my pack of cigarettes.

SPEAKER_00

So now I remember how smoked you got.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't get like there wasn't a lot of things like that I would get really, really upset about. Yeah. But quitting smoking was one of the hardest things, yeah. I didn't, yeah, no, thank you. I do have a question for you really quick before we get all started. Um, are you following FIFA anymore? The rest of FIFA? Um, well, I think it's Europe and somebody else tonight. It's like the fight, the it's like the last four games, and then that they're they're gonna have the finals. I only ask because like it's a new thing, it's a new sport for me and dad. And I find it so fascinating that the people just they run so hard just and like score one goal of a game. It's just ridiculous to me. And I only ask that about the FIFA because it's so up in the news right now. But the ESPE Awards, which is the ESPN awards that celebrate the biggest sports moment of the year, is coming out, I guess tonight or the in the next couple of nights. And I wondered if there was any um sports person that you would choose to give an award to.

SPEAKER_00

Well, Simone Biles, for one, would definitely be one sports person I would give an award to.

SPEAKER_01

Why?

SPEAKER_00

Just because Simone Biles is a badass. Like just to say I got to meet Simone Biles, hell yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So you don't necessarily think she's a great athlete, you just want to meet her.

SPEAKER_00

Simone Biles? I think she's a phenomenal athlete.

SPEAKER_01

I know, I was just teasing you.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I was like, how how dare you say that about my Simone?

SPEAKER_01

She does a lot of stuff for mental health. I think that that's really a good thing.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes, she really does.

SPEAKER_01

I think most of my sports it centers around the Chiefs so much that I would have to go with Patrick Mahomes coming back and being ready to play. We're gonna go to the Super Bowl this year, Dakota.

SPEAKER_00

You say that every year, every year you go, except for last year. I don't even know where you guys were in the Super Bowl.

SPEAKER_01

We didn't even make it to the playoffs last year.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

You were too busy watching the Denver Broncos kick our ass every every other day.

SPEAKER_00

As it should be. Okay, a Florida woman receives unfortunate new license plate. An elderly woman in Panama Beach, Florida, is asking for a new license plate after receiving one with a combination of letters and numbers she finds inappropriate. How old did they say she was? It doesn't say. It just says she's an elderly woman. Oh, they okay. The license plate reads S Q Z A 55.

SPEAKER_01

S Q Z 55. A55. S Q Z A 55. It looks like it says squeeze ass.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, that's exactly what it looks like.

SPEAKER_01

Like, poor old lady. Here's the thing. Here's the thing with this. Is she had no idea what that said. And then one of her grandkids or great-grandkids came over and was like, you know what that says, great granny? That's how that happened.

SPEAKER_00

You're probably a hundred percent right. I wonder if it'll tell us later in the article. Um, but those numbers can be interpreted as letters, creating a message that has become a topic of conversation in her retirement community, especially among the men.

SPEAKER_01

I'm telling you, some horny teenager saw that and was like, Grandpa, you have no idea what that says, but let me cue you in. And then some guy at the retirement home heard that and was like, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh. Right.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So she goes on to say, I looked at it and I said, I don't think so, Nancy Delo said. She shared the plate with one of her 89-year-old neighbors, which added to the buzz around the community. So she's she's older if the community, the person she's talking to is 89. But she didn't around. This is what I received from the DMV for my new license plate. That's good for 10 years. An office manager confirmed that the county will replace any license plate deemed offensive for free at the office. So it seems like she can get it replaced. Squeeze ass.

SPEAKER_01

I just think that it's hysterical that an elderly lady gets because anybody else, anybody else, like a dude or even a young girl, she'd been like that big, people wouldn't have thought that's funny. Like, throw it on there. I don't care. I would have kept it. Absolutely. I know. I know that. Completely roll around with that. That's too funny.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, what's your first story?

SPEAKER_01

You want to hear the stupidest burglar ever?

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely, I do.

SPEAKER_01

A burglar suspected of allegedly robbed a place and then left his wallet there with his real ID in it. Allegedly. I guess they just keep allegedly articles.

SPEAKER_00

Take out his wallet in the first place.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. Why would you take out your wallet? That is like that's a what the hell moment, right? Like, if the cops, like I mean, he's shaking in his shoes anyway. Like, where did I lose my wallet? How did I lose my wallet? Oh no. What if somebody like me grab grabs my wallet?

SPEAKER_00

You know? I would have said someone stole my wallet. That's what I would have said. Someone had had stolen my wallet a couple of days ago. Right. Because the the cops never hear that excuse, Dakota. I'm gonna fucking try. Just like I'm gonna say, these aren't my pants.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're not my pants. I don't know how they got on me. So can I ask you a quick question, Dakota? I'm gonna be I'm gonna I'm stupid sometimes, but a Florida student graduates with uh an 11.99 GPA.

SPEAKER_00

I thought it only went to 4.0.

SPEAKER_01

Right? Like see, I've been thinking about this all day and just like like like 11.9 is 12? Is that what they're going for? But still, that's not right either. And I thought it was because I was stupid, but now you're doing it, so I guess we're both stupid. Should you get like like a medical degree during your height? 11.99 GPA. How does this work? Well, I don't know. It happened in Florida. What more do you have to add? Like, that's all you have to say. It's like uh it happened in Florida, there you go.

SPEAKER_00

Its own district. Florida is just Florida.

SPEAKER_01

Right? So you want to hear my one last what the hell moment? Police in a small town had to publicly request that people stop bringing unexploded grenades into the police station. Wait, what the hell? Yeah. And I was like, what the hell? Like, well, first of all, what else are you supposed to do with it first? Second, like, why is there why is there like a script for that? Like, who knows that that's something that like why I don't know. It's just what the hell? What the hell?

SPEAKER_00

What the hell? Yeah, that's that's bizarre. How bizarre. Yep. How bizarre. Did it say where this happened at?

SPEAKER_01

It didn't. Just police remind a small town, police remind had to remind the public not to bring in unexploded grenades into the station. I need more information. I might have to research this for further discussion later at an at a later date.

SPEAKER_00

I have so many questions and you can't answer them. Because I read you the whole article in about four seconds. Yeah. That can't be the whole article. Wait, wait to drop drop a drop the grenade and hide. I know. It's like it wasn't my grenade. And I'm sure that's what they said when they dropped it off.

SPEAKER_01

I ain't mine. These like these pants aren't mine. The car I drove up in is mine. And if you need anything else, neither are my teeth, my eyes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So a man's horrifying poop incident lands him in prison. Oh no. A man who defecated on a wall before cleaning himself up with a sandwich has been sent to prison for six weeks.

SPEAKER_01

Huh? For a s uh. Why you gotta use the word sandwich in that highlight? That's awful. Like what I had a tongue ink.

SPEAKER_00

The 47-year-old has been behind bars and given us six weeks in prison uh for an act of outraging public decency. Yeah, that doesn't seem long enough, right? In May of this year, those running Loinbrook District Community Social Club in the small forest of Dean Village spoke about what he did at the at a venue on the evening of February 13th. Uh a spokeswoman from the club who did not want to be named said he came in about 8 30 p.m. and was acting very bizarre. He said he he said some strange things. How bizarre. How bizarre. Uh he asked if he could use the toilet. We said that he could, uh and he did. He was in there for about four or five minutes. She said the man had a dog with him, was blunt, asking for a drink, but saying he didn't have any money to pay for it. He also reportedly claimed that he had a bomb in his pocket, although club officials saw for themselves that it was actually a large silver metal ball. The spokeswoman said staff pretended that the club was closing because his b behavior was so strange and they wanted him to leave. But they were amazed when he then went outside and defecated on the wall of the club before wiping his bottom with a sandwich that he took out of a black bag that he had with him. She said, I've never seen anything so disgusting in all my life. You don't expect somebody to do anything so disgusting. She said she said I was absolutely mortified.

SPEAKER_01

I have just like how long have we been doing this podcast, Coda? Like, and every week the world surprises me. Isn't it crazy? Oh my gosh. I just like, what did that sandwich do to him? They've got him in jail. I don't know, but it was in a black baggie, which is a little bit questionable. I want to know what kind of questions, but I don't think I want to know the answers.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes questions are better left unanswered.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm. Don't I live by a rule, Dakota, that says don't ask a question that you're not prepared to hear the answer to. And I ask myself that question a hundred times a day. A hundred times a day. I'm like, do I want to know the answer? Nope. Well, then I'm just gonna keep my mouth closed. Also, like it has to be pretty hard to shit on a wall, right? I don't know. Where there's a will, there's a way. And in like New York or in LA, yeah, if they put everybody in jail that was defecating on the sidewalk or on the walls in LA or New York, they would they would run out of prison space very, very quickly. I mean, technically we're already running out of prison space, so well, can you imagine if they put everybody behind bars that's defecating on the sidewalk? You have a really big homeless problem in Denver, too.

SPEAKER_00

I haven't ever seen someone shit in the street or on a wall. I'm I'm fairly positive I would have told you if I had.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's kind of a thing that's like I gotta call my mom. She's gonna like I wouldn't be the first person you should call, but I I would think I'd be in the top five, right? I would say the top two.

SPEAKER_00

And you can guess the second person.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's true. So, do you know Pitbull the singer? Pitbull he convinced 22,000 of his biggest fans to either don a bald cap or shave their head in solidarity of him, and 22,000 people did it.

SPEAKER_00

Wow. Influencers these days. I just public figures.

SPEAKER_01

I just don't think there's anybody that I watch on a continuous basis besides one of us that would convince me to do something crazy like that.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, I can't think of anybody. No. Right?

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

It's been a wild, bizarre, bizarre world. A Japanese woman is arrested for showing her roommate's mouth shut.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I'm trying not to jump to conclusions. I'm trying to listen to more of the story before I jump to conclusions.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, a Japanese woman was arrested for sewing uh shut the lips of another woman she was living with, causing injuries that left her unable to eat or speak. The woman, 49, was a part-time worker, uh, was arrested Monday in a city just northeast of Tokyo after allegedly attacking her 42-year-old roommate. Police said uh she used a needle and thread and sewed the woman's lips together at around 1.30 p.m. local time on 29th of June. They did not disclose whether she had admitted to the allegations, but announced they were investigating the motive and circumstances behind the assault. They were also investigating the relationship between the two women. The victim escaped the house around 1.30 the following day while the attacker was out. Uh Japan Today reported wearing a white face mask as she ran to a nearby shop and handed a staff member a note reading, please help me, as she was unable to speak because of her injuries. The employee alerted the police.

SPEAKER_01

The woman later told police what did they use to sew her mouth closed? Like a a hatchet? A needle and thread.

SPEAKER_00

I know, but because she couldn't talk, I'm thinking some kind of big weapon was involved. I don't know. The woman told police later that the fear she had for her roommate uh prevented her from leaving sooner. She said, I'm so afraid, uh, so I couldn't escape right away. The two women had been living together at the house since around April 2025. Uh, police said other people had been staying at the property as well, and they were questioned as part of the investigation. Officers are considering the possibility that some of them were present during the incident. I just want to know like how how do you hold someone down like how do you how do you like how? How? Like I would fight tooth and nail. I don't know. That's my question. Do you know what I mean? Like, was she drugged and then woke up with her mouth showed?

SPEAKER_01

I just don't. There's more questions than answers, Takoda.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, a hundred percent.

SPEAKER_01

That's the that's what this episode needs to be called. More questions than answers, ladies and gentlemen.

SPEAKER_00

See, and I was gonna call it squeeze ass, but that one's fine.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's good to be back. Sorry that I took some time off, but it was needed. And I'm glad to be back. And so I just want everybody to make sure that they like, share, subscribe, and interact. That helps our algorithm so much. If you could do that for us, we would love you always. That's about all. So don't forget to drink your water and talk to your therapist.

SPEAKER_00

Bye-bye. Bye. What's it look like when she's given head?

SPEAKER_01

Like just like oi, like, oi, just the eye, just the eye's like spinning in her head.

SPEAKER_00

Hell yeah, I suck toes.
